Lab gained a seat from UKIP whilst losing one to an Independent.
- gained Thanet, Newington, a 2 member ward with elections every 4 years, from UKIP on a 7½% swing since 2015
Labour easily won both seats in 2003, 2007 and 2011 whilst UKIP gained both seats in 2015, the first time it contested the ward
- lost Carlisle, Botcherby, a three member ward with annual elections, to an Independent on a swing of 10¾% since May
Labour won each year from 2002 to 2015 apart from 2010 and 2014 when an Independent, also the County Councillor, gained the seat.
New Councillor contested the seat in 2015 losing by some 4%
