Puckeridge – East Hertfordshire DC – James Cartwright (Independent, elected as Conservative) resigned. He breachied the code of conduct when one of his tweets implied than non-religious people were thick, illiterate and pathetic in tweets aimed at former councillor McNeece (who proposed removing the council prayer and resigned when Council voted it down). He was censored and asked to attend social media training, but refused to do so and left the party (and removed from all committees for not attending training). He was also the Chair of the Stanton Parish Council and a councillor since 2015. He resigned all those positions as is now living in Kenya.

Blakelaw – Newcastle-upon-Tyne – David Stockdale (Labour) resigned, due to “work commitments”, but it might also be the result of other councillors being concerned by his finances and debt (he borrowed £20,000 to 4 councillors to pay his debts) and about an audit of the finances of the Blakelaw Partnership, which he chaired (there is now an investigation by the Northumbria Police on that subject). He was a councillor since 2012, the Cabinet member for Communities and Facilities and was the organiser of the NE Corbyn campaign in 2015.
